Bois Poulin has been specializing in the processing of red oak since the business got its start. Northern red oak (Quercus rubra) is an abundant species, characterized by a tighter grain and more uniform colour than the Appalachian or Southern United States red oak. Its slower growth gives the northern red oak its superior qualities.
